
Priyanka Mukherjee(Director/Photographer/Writer)
Priyanka is an independent photojournalist and documentary filmmaker and has been working in this field for the past 10 years. She is post graduate in Photography from Jamia Millia Islamia and has worked with Time of India as a photojournalist. She has been traveling to different parts of the world for projects and in search of stories which makes her understand different communities, caste and sectors. Also helped her to work in a stressed and conflicted environment and made her more connected to people of all sectors.
As a student of Journalism and photography, journalism always helped her to find stories and Films/photography to curve them on prints. She believes being a female photographer/filmmaker is one of her biggest strengths as people from different communities always feel connected with her.
Amar Gurung (Director of photography/Cinematographer/editor)
Amar has been working as a DOP for the past nine years and have subsequently been a part of organisations like BBC, Euro news, Voice of America, Oxfam India, SEWA Bharat etc. Documentary Filmmaking is something he always wanted to explore as he feels visual storytelling has the power to educate as well as aware people. He likes to tell stories about the lives of real people in ways that help audiences make or see connections - about ideas or issues - that may otherwise seem abstract.
Award - Together they have won Asian American Journalism award for Excellence in Video Storytelling, Short-form.
The film was about how risky it is to make bangles in India.
